Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy
How Catalyst Mortgage Protection handles consumer health data under Washington's My Health My Data Act and Nevada law. Effective and last updated: October 6, 2026.
Who this policy covers
This Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy supplements our Privacy Policy. It explains how Catalyst Mortgage Protection handles consumer health data as defined by the Washington My Health My Data Act and Nevada Senate Bill 370 (NRS Chapter 603A), for residents of those states and anyone whose health data is collected in them. Much of the information we handle as an insurance producer is governed by the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and state insurance privacy laws, which these laws may exempt; we publish this policy regardless so you know exactly what we do.
Consumer health data we collect
On our quote form you may choose to tell us about health conditions, with a separate consent checkbox, (for example, diabetes, heart conditions, cancer history, breathing conditions), tobacco or nicotine use, and your date of birth or age range. In calls or applications you may share additional health details relevant to life insurance underwriting. We collect this directly from you, with your consent, and from insurers' underwriting reports only with the authorization you sign on an application.
Why we collect and use it
We use consumer health data only to prepare life insurance quotes, match you with insurers likely to accept your health history, help you apply, and service your policy. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not sell it.
Who we share it with
We share consumer health data only with the insurance companies you ask us to obtain quotes or coverage from, and with service providers that process it for us under contract (for example, the service that delivers our form submissions). We never share it with advertising platforms; health, tobacco and date-of-birth answers are not sent to Meta or any analytics or advertising service. We do not sell consumer health data.
Your rights
You have the right to confirm whether we collect, share or sell your consumer health data; to access it and see a list of third parties and affiliates we shared it with and their contact information; to withdraw consent; and to ask us to delete your consumer health data, a request we will also pass on to processors and third parties we shared it with. To exercise these rights, call (771) 249-3377. We respond within 45 days, extendable once by 45 days when reasonably necessary with notice to you.
How to appeal
If we decline your request, you may appeal by calling (771) 249-3377 with the request "Health Data Appeal." We will respond in writing within 45 days explaining our decision. If your appeal is denied, Washington residents may contact the Washington State Attorney General at atg.wa.gov, and Nevada residents may contact the Nevada Attorney General at ag.nv.gov.
